   Ladies clubs are shorter and the kick point – where the shaft flexes – is usually higher up. A womans swing tends to be slower and more controlled so the extra length of whippyness adds to the clubhead speed.

   There’s no reason why you couldn’t use mens clubs if they suit your swing. Get a pro to help you decide.

   There is no difference between ladies’ and gentlemen’s golf clubs. When you go shopping for clubs, you should choose the clubs that suit you.

   Therefore if you have a guy who is 6 feet tall and weighs around 150 lbs, and a lady of about the same stature, then it is likely that they might choose the same clubs.

   As to the whippiness of the shaft, again it is a matter of choice. Some guys like stiff ones, as do some ladies. Others prefer them not so stiff.

   I would agree that some ladies’ swings are slower and more deliberate than some men’s, but not all.

   Ok…..Standard ladies clubs are lighter, Shorter, generally different shafts and different lofts than mens clubs…..Does that mean you can’t hit mens clubs….not necessarily……Try em …if you hit em good…… good on you…if not try the ladies clubs and see if they fit your swing better….thats what I would do

   Apart from what has already been stated about ladies golf clubs being shorter, they are, in my humble experience, also usually cheaper.

   Of course a 5′ 5" female can use steel shafted mens golf clubs! At least you won’t be embarrassed by those girly pinks and lilacs – euch! However, unless you’re built like an Amazonian, I think carbon shafted clubs give more result for less effort.

   Because I’m a 5′ 1" female, I chose a set of Junior golf clubs and boy, does that work for me! Dirt cheap, too!

   Anyway, I just need 12 points to move up a level, so thank you very much for such a nice, straightforward question on a Sunday morning.
