Not a big fan of it …
Not a big fan of it at all; for too many reasons to list in here; same for the “explanar” unit…Please have a look at my “golf pro lesson proper spine tilt angle” and it will explain why; also see “golf pro lesson head steady” and “golf pro lesson eye ball”; Thanks for the question! Shawn

    Great video, I have …
Great video, I have the heavy club and work on the perpetual motion but still swing across my body at times. What do you think about the Super Swing Trainer (its the PVC swing plane tool)?

  3. clemshaw Said,

The 9 pound one is …
The 9 pound one is plenty! You just want to use it to feel the pause from backswing to downswing with a short swing; I would not do full swings with this club; just do a perpetual motion drill waist high with very little wrist hinge and feel how your body gets into a full turn to get out of the way in both directions…Like in my perpetual motion drill video but with a long chip swing like in the “ball bearings and sockets video”; Shawn

    strength trainer ?, …
strength trainer ?, should i go with the nine pound or the heavy one? Or maybe i should just get both and once i get past the nine, i would then use it to warm up and then go onto the 11.5. is this a bad idea?

    what do you think …
what do you think is the best training aid that keeps you on plane during the up-swing

OK I think I understand. Thanks again!

  8. clemshaw Said,

If you find one it …
If you find one it is OK to buy even if you are left handed; all you need to do is have a regular grip installed on it…Otherwise, you can get a weighted club and do the perpetual motion drill like in the “golf pro lesson swing plane” video.

  9. molsondrive1970 Said,

    … it doesn’t seem …
… it doesn’t seem like a lot of places carry this aid and no where can I find a left-hand version. I’m left handed but does it matter? Any other suggestions. Thanks again!

Thanks for the quick reply and recommendations. I only started playing a few months ago. I’d like to show you the swing if I ever get a video camera. I think I’m looking for a focus for when I’m in a store and get that itch to buy a training aid!

  11. clemshaw Said,

I would have to see …
I would have to see what your swing looks like to really be able to tell; all of the ones listed are good but they apply to different people; a good mold for the grip for sure and then something to groove the centrifugal force in the swing…the Leadbetter Swingsetter would be good on those fronts; Shawn

    Hi Shawn,
I’m a keen beginner and I find your videos very helpful. My question: if I’m going to buy only 1 (maybe 2) of these training aids, which one would you recommend and why?
    Thanks

    Thanks, Shawn.
I’ll work on it. I’ll also work on my procrastination in buying your dvd!

Have a look at the “arms in front of body” and “Golf Pro Lesson Hooks and Slices” video and practice some shots with the ball below the feet from the “Golf Pro Lesson on the slopes” video; the “don’t keep your head down part 1 and 2 vids will help round everything out…all on the “you Tube Shawn” page of my website…

    Shawn,
Thanks to you, and a lot of practice, I’m hitting the ball 15-20 yds further while still maintaining nice accuracy. However, I’ve started to lose it a little. I’m hitting 6i 175-180 with a draw, but recently, it’s turning into more of a hook. My divots aren’t straight anymore; they’re pointing right of target. I checked out “watchdog: power fade,” but, it doesn’t seem that my arms are crashing. Yet, I CANNOT hit a fade anymore. It seems that my shoulders are leveling at the top.
    ideas?

    Hi Jordan;
    I like to place it just forward of centre just like in the board I use in my “Golf Pro Lesson Braced Tilt Part 2″ video;

where do you think you should place the impact bag in yor stance? the inventor gary wiren says just outside your left shoulder, for low-point, but there can be different uses

Hey, shawn…just wanted to tell you that I got the dvd and its great! It is definitely the best $40 bucks I’ve spent on my golf game. I especially love the 3rd disc, priceless! I love the youtube videos as well, but the dvd’s got that something special…great work!

  21. clemshaw Said,

    Check the axis that …
Check the axis that you are swinging around as well as your pressure point in the downswing; the “Golf Pro Lesson proper spine tilt” and “Golf pro lesson Braced tilt” and then make sure you don’t take the club too far inside when you get into the proper set up with the “Golf Pro Lesson Takeaway”. All mt 80 plus videos are listed on my website at shawnclementgolf dot com

  22. tarwaterjr Said,

    I feel like I have …
I feel like I have a tendency to swing over the top (30 yr old habits are hard to break). Do you think it’s possible that I’ve sort of “perfected” an over the top move that allows me to hit it straight but weak?

    Thanks

  23. tarwaterjr Said,

    Shawn,
    I was …

    Shawn,
I was wondering what you thought of the “speed stik.” I think I’ve seen you use it in another lesson, but not on this one. Like most amateurs, I desperately want more distance.
I know it’s difficult to analyze without video but maybe you can help. Consistently, I hit the ball straight with a divot directly at the target. Occasionally, I’ll pull it or hit a weak fade. my trajectory is nice but the ball just seems to go up then down (no boring). I hit my 6 iron about 165.

  24. Schnappss Said,
